Resource Guide
You may understand the statistics, know other people fly every day, and still feel your body react before the plane even leaves the ground.
Fear of flying can be confusing because logic and fear do not always move together. You may know the flight is routine while still feeling a racing heart, tight chest, shaky hands, nausea, dizziness or a strong urge to escape the situation.
A phobic response can be triggered by a particular situation, and the body can react quickly with anxiety symptoms before conscious reasoning has much influence. For some people the fear is linked to turbulence, heights, enclosed spaces, loss of control, a previous frightening flight or seeing someone else react with fear.
That is why reassurance alone may help temporarily without fully changing the pattern. The mind may still be treating the situation as a threat.
Evidence-based approaches for phobias include psychological therapies such as CBT and gradual exposure. Some people also use airline fear-of-flying courses, breathing techniques and practical education about flying. Hypnotherapy is another approach some adults choose.
If the fear is significantly affecting your life, speak with an appropriate healthcare or mental-health professional about the options available to you.
Jeet Quantum offers private online RTT® and hypnotherapy sessions from Ireland, including an initial complimentary 30-minute Quantum Connection Call to discuss your circumstances and whether this approach may suit you. The call is not a diagnosis or a treatment guarantee. If you would like to learn about the structure, see the 30-Day Deep Shift Personal Transformation journey before booking.
If a flight is approaching, it may help to identify which part of the journey feels hardest, such as getting on board, take-off, turbulence or feeling unable to leave. You can ask the airline about its fear-of-flying information or courses, and speak to a qualified healthcare professional about evidence-based treatment options. There is no reliable promise that a single hypnotherapy session will resolve a longstanding fear before a departure date.
No. CBT and carefully planned exposure-based therapies are well-established approaches for phobias, and may be particularly suitable if avoidance is significantly affecting daily life. Hypnotherapy is an optional complementary approach some adults consider; suitability should be assessed individually.
RTT® uses hypnotherapy and guided exploration to work with beliefs, associations and learned responses connected with the issue being explored. In fear-of-flying work, the focus would be the personal fear pattern rather than making promises about a particular result.
Every person is different. Jeet Quantum does not guarantee that hypnotherapy will remove a phobia, and it is not a replacement for medical or psychological care where that is needed.
What part of flying feels most threatening to me: turbulence, being unable to leave, loss of control, bodily sensations, heights, or the possibility of something going wrong?
